Real Property Tours completed the first 3D filming test on a prestigious Crown Estate property in Regents Park just before Christmas.
Managing Director Lee Helliar said, "We've filmed a range of properties from 180k to 23 million over the last eight years in 2D and wanted to see if 3D would bring a new visual dynamic to remote viewing,
just because it's 3D doesn't mean it's going to enhance the experience so we decided to carry out a test filming first and the results are available for anyone to see on YouTube 3D. Cooper Rose kindly provided a property that would really test the camera and we've put together a selection of shots to show what works and what doesn't, you have to think differently when filming 3D to conventional 2D. Also what you view it on is as important ,
we saw the initial results on a 65 inch Panasonic plasma with shutter glasses and the pictures were stunning, really leapt out at you, literally. Since then we've viewed the footage on YouTube 3D and you lose a lot of the 3 dimensional quality.
People watching using coloured glasses need to make sure they are the right colour lenses, we've found that the public often use glasses they’ve picked up from the cinema which can end up losing all the 3 dimensional aspect as they have the wrong type of lenses".
Real Property Tours are now testing another 3D camera set up before offering two 3D filming packages to residential and commercial agents.
